Fall From Grace is a hard-rock phoenix rising from the ashes of
adversity. Music for the masses, each of the band's songs is a story of
struggle and triumph – and each of the four band members is a walking
testament to the saying "that which does not kill you, makes you stronger."
Fall From Grace was formed in the musical mecca of Seattle, Washington, but
this punk rock foursome does not subscribe to the indie pop culture or
grunge aesthetic most people associate with the area. Instead, Fall From
Grace live and play in the underbelly of the Seattle scene, hitting the
hardcore clubs and breathing life into the new movement they are building –
a movement that's breaking through with the help of acts like Aiden and
Amber Pacific.
Fall from Grace's gritty punk rock sound is amplified by their nonstop,
action-packed live show: drumsticks fly, the bass pedal works double time,
and the bass and guitars swing wildly around the guys' bodies. Split jumps
and head knocks are the norm, and front man Tryg commands the mob of psycho
scenesters, singing songs with infectious melodies, brutal breakdowns and
crowd-clap choruses. Although the subject matter is at times dark, their
up-tempo music gives something to everyone. Fall From Grace performances
incite dancing riots and provoke crowds to writhe in circle pits and popcorn
nonstop.
The band has come together and faced the darkest of times, but they've spun
it in a way that brings a message of hope and hardcore happiness to all who
hear it. Each of the four members of Fall From Grace has stood victorious
against impossible odds, with salvation coming in the form of their
undivided focus on the band and their music. Ken Olson made it to every show
and every daily practice despite being homeless and living out of his car.
Drummer Kenny B signed up to serve in the U.S. military, and as a soldier,
he was required to get inoculations for small pox and anthrax. But prior to
serving in Iraq, Kenny suffered from health problems in connection with the
vaccinations and was placed in a V.A. hospital in critical condition. To
this day he suffers from seizures but works with Operation Ward 57, a group
dedicated to the support of troops and the improvement of the conditions and
environment at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Singer Tryg Littlefield has
risen above early life issues: After divorcing his biological mother at the
age of 12 due to mental and physical abuse, Tryg packed his bags to move in
with his father and stepmother who are now the mainstay of strength in his
life. Since then, Tryg has been leading a nomadic life. His wanderlust, love
for touring, and couch-sleeping ability was born from these years. His quest
for family roots was the driving force that led him to build Seattle's
musical community and reach out to his fans as family.
Lead guitarist Brian and bass player Ken Olson share more in life than just
being band mates. These brothers have unified to survive many struggles,
among them a tumultuous childhood in an impoverished environment, and a
deadly car accident. In a nightmarish crash in the middle of the night, a
drunk driver hit the car Brian was a passenger in. The car that hit them was
traveling above the speed limit without any lights on, hitting Brian's
vehicle and causing it to spin out, crushing the passenger side and killing
the driver. Brian was pronounced dead on the scene. However, after 45
minutes of flatlining, he awoke. Miraculously, Brian came out of the
accident without suffering brain damage, blindness or paralysis. After three
weeks in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit and over a month of recovery, he's
alive and kicking to perform with vigour today. After overcoming these
challenges and defeating the odds, Fall From Grace have one goal. And that
goal is to rock your face off.
Fittingly, they were named “the band that will not die” during the televised
finals of the Bodog Music Battle of The Bands. Fall From Grace took the
title in Seattle, which led to them appearing as one of the 17 chosen U.S.
finalists to contend for the $1 million recording contract with Bodog Music.
As the bands competed against each other week after week on the Bodog Battle
reality TV series on Fuse TV, Fall From Grace proved time and time again
that their true hard-rock spirit and endurance would reign supreme. In the
end, Fall From Grace outperformed over 7,500 bands nationwide on the
Internet, on local and national stages, and on TV. With each challenge, the
band gained the reverence of celebrity judges Johnny Rotten, Bif Naked and
Billy Duffy, the respect of fellow competing bands, and the love of viewing
audiences everywhere.
The band's cult following continues to grow as the band tours nonstop. Fall
From Grace have been playing alongside heavy-hitters coast to coast and
hitting up touring festivals like the Vans Warped Tour. Now that Fall From
Grace are part of the Bodog Music roster, they are set to sink their teeth
into recording their first major album. Currently, the band is writing new
material and getting geared up for their debut international release on
Bodog Music in 2008.
